The first single, a limited edition 7" promo "Vegetarian Restaurant" was released in June 2004. This was followed by Aberfeldy's critically acclaimed album "Young Forever", famously recorded around one microphone and produced by Jim Sutherland, in August 2004. Amongst a batch of great press the album was given 9/10 in the NME, alongside a "Single of the Week" accolade for first proper single "Heliopolis by Night" released in September 2004, which reached number 66 in the UK charts.

Their second single "Love Is An Arrow" and accompanying flash music video featuring lovelorn Eskimos, was released on February 14th 2005, Valentine's Day, reaching number 60 in the charts.

Aberfeldy spent most of 2004-2005 touring throughout the UK. They also supported R.E.M. at Loch Lomond, Blondie and the Scissor Sisters at Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations (2004), the Magic Band at The Arches in Glasgow, and they played at the Belladrum Festival in Inverness,
T in the Park and the Greenman Festival (2005). They travelled to Austin, Texas in 2005 and 2006 for the SXSW Music Festival, managing to play in Kansas City and New York before returning home.

Several Aberfeldy songs were used in the soundtrack of Gamerz, a Scottish comedy film, while the song "Summer's Gone" was used in Argentina to advertise Quilmes beer.

Original drummer Ian Stoddart departed in late 2005 and was replaced by Murray Briggs.

In January 2006 Aberfeldy got together with producer Calum Malcolm and recorded the second album, "Do Whatever Turns You On", in the remarkably short time of 2 weeks. A video for the first single, "Hypnotised", taken from the new album, was filmed in Kansas City during the SXSW trip. The single was released in June 2006 and the album followed in July to rave reviews.

Aberfeldy have gigged extensively throughout 2006 including a support tour with The Beautiful South, festival dates in Cornbury, Eurokenes, Electric Picnic and Skye Festival and support dates with James Blunt. They also completed their own headline UK tour (tour movie) in September 2006 to more great reviews.
