Hailing from North Uist, Julie is a singer and multi-instrumentalist who has been described as a "revelation". The last year and a half has been a whirlwind for Julie; voted Gaelic Singer of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards 2005, in February 2006 she became the first ever Scottish Gaelic artist to win a prestigious BBC Radio 2 Horizon award for best emerging artist.
Her eagerly awaited solo album, "mar a tha mo chridhe" released in 2005 to critical acclaim - described as "excellent", "fresh" and "outstanding" confirms Julie's position as one of "leading lights in a new generation of Gaelic singers".
